costly obedience is required
11 Then the priests and the prophets spoke to the officials and to all the people, saying, "A death sentence for this man! For he has prophesied against this city as you have heard in your hearing."
12 Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.
13 "Now therefore amend your ways and your deeds and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will change His mind about the misfortune which He has pronounced against you.
14 "But as for me, behold, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your sight.
Jeremiah 26

AaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrT
Conviction: the ridiculous amounts of money that i spend on paint, cotton, brushes, razors, palette knives, markers, watercolor pencils, bristol board, etc.... could be used for far better things and for greater purposes.... gosh.... this is a predicament.

A taste of Europe in N.Carolina
Today, my art history professor took us to the Biltmore Estate in Ashville, NC. It was built towards the end of the 19th century over a period of 7 years. The Vanderbilts had one son, and they only lived in this house for a small period of time.
I find the french/gothic architecture pretty interesting. The interior of the house was layed out pretty bizarrely. The kitchen, swimming pool, bowling alley, and gym lie in the basement of the house as well as random servant courters. We got to explore probably 1/2 of the house. Much of it was blocked off for "private viewing". The interior design of the house was pretty grotesque. Obviously it was lacking a woman's touch when the house was built. Anywho, Jess, we should go here. I think you would enjoy it. AND the gardens that were laid out here are pretty epic.

Nonsense is on every face.
The world keeps running at its own pace.
People stop and people stare.
Impressions built by what you wear.
We're all guilty of this 'theme.'
It flows through our bloodstream.
Images, music, sounds, and smells,
they drive our mind, we can't repel.
Tomorrow could be just another day...
Instead, die to self and live for the One, Yahweh.

Listen up.
I want to get this out.
I'm not sure how... a pout? a shout?
You need to know
what this girl's all about.
I am a walking piece of doubt.
Why o' why am I so shy?!
My stomach hurts and I want to die.
Always afraid to speak.
Why am I such a freak?
My words come stumbling out.
My face, reflection of doubt.
Ugh, there's that word again.
I feel like I'm ten.
I hate the fact that I'm softspoken.
All this is is venomous poison.
I tell myself daily, "It's not a big deal.
Just be normal; just be real."
I cannot hide my shyness inside.
I wish I were more bona fide.

Alone in the City
There are two sides to every story,
and a hundred sides to every one person's face.
Just because she's real with you
doesn't mean she trusts you.
She spends her evenings with different men,
her afternoons reciting love poems.
She lives alone,
But she has no home
She's cultivated a heart of stone.
Stroke upon stroke,
she creates her escape
to that haven, to that one place.
But it's all fake
and nothing lasts.
She's fabricated.
and a hundred sides to every one person's face.
Just because she's real with you
doesn't mean she trusts you.
She spends her evenings with different men,
her afternoons reciting love poems.
She lives alone,
But she has no home
She's cultivated a heart of stone.
Stroke upon stroke,

old.poetry.rediscovered
it's about freakin' time
my head has cleared.
you're inlove with your beard.
silly, we both were, i guess it's alright
it's time to do what i know is right...
i can't love a lie.
i can't live two lives.
so don't standbye
i can't be your friend.
it's not you, it's not me.
it's just not meant to be.
it's not worth getting mad.
just forget everything we had.
you will forget this by tomorrow
and you'll forget all this sorrow.
you will find someone new
who will love you for you...
'cuz it wont be me.
