Fur fur fur

this mink jacket was given to me by a friend. i just received it in the mail a few days ago all the way from CA. it was one of her relatives old things and she didn't want it but knew i'd love it. i'm really excited about this piece. i also got a great full fur jacket from her. it's ridiculously warm. i feel like lucy out of narnia. so today wasn't cold enough of narnian apparel, but perfect for this little number. fur doesn't have to be for the fancy schmancy. it can be warn casually. i am loving it!

recycled art

i found natalie while i was snooping around looking at different blogs. she is a mother and a part time photographer in utah. if you have time, check her house on her blog(http://lehiwrights.blogspot.com/). it's so creatively crafted! i love what she has done here! when i'm done with school and have a little more time and money on my hands, i'm hitting up the second hand stores like habitat and i'm going to start creating! scratch that... i don't want to wait. i'll just have to start smaller and work my way up to projects like this.

life aquatic series

i shot a series of these photos for a photo project this past semester. the lighting in these portraits turned out way better than i had ever hoped or imagined they would. i tried to capture the every day girl... the imperfections, the reality of life, etc... but it's all beautiful.

girl in the city

this is actually a shot of my sister in chicago. i just love so many things about this single scene... but to name a few without totally boring you i'd have to say that i love the asymmetry created in the frame, her vintage/hipster style, and her confident but mysterious facial expression.

beanie: homemade (let me know, i can make you one!)
sunglasses: ray ban wayfarers
scarf: american eagle
jacket: second hand thrift store
