Laura Burris, how I've missed thee
I hope that tomorrow we can hang from trees
Let our hair get tangled in the breeze
Jump in the crick up to our knees
I hope that our feet do not freeze
And that we don't get stung by any bees
For lunch we can eat some ham and cheese
I love cheese, do you?
And maybe you will come to that wedding with me, please
My heart is so full of glee
I really have missed you you see.

Pool conversation
Junior highers are jealous for the weirdest things....
For instance:
It ranges from little boys to little men... and the little boys loath to have armpit hair, hairy chests, facial hair, and a deep voice... they want to be men, which is good! One particular boy made a point in showing me his 'facial hair' while declaring that he was only 13... but the facial hair was really only a few long dark hairs growing out of a mole on the side of his face.
Some other boys were playing basketball in the pool. Well, while the one boy was about to shoot the boy blocking him exclaimed with much excitement and surprise that the boy shooting had armpit hair! At that instant, the boy with the ball felt some embarrassment, the other boy shouted, "that's sweeeeeeeeeet!"
While boys find puberty to be exciting, the girls are just the opposite...

Crooked Conversation
Don't leave so soon.
Maybe let's chat.
Let's sit under that great big moon
And we'll talk about just that.
You listen carefully
I open my mouth...
I'm from a no where land.
A town that's really just a neighborhood.
It's name is everything but grand.
There are no secrets
Everyone's a parrot.
Raised in a town of little gossips
No one acts like true grownups.
.... time passes,
I tell you how I feel.
What do you mean, "is this real?"
What else did you expect?
I usually choose the worst for my best.
This I must and do confess.
I can't say my life is no mess.
I settle for something only second best.
I admit I don't pursue Him hard.
Infact, sometimes not even at all.
Infact, sometimes not even at all.
Silence fills the empty space.
We sit there starring face to face.
I sit there waiting to hear your response.... ....
Uncaring and selfish, I move on.
Self absorbed in my own little world...
Something grabs hold of it and I realize
Self absorbed in my own little world...
Something grabs hold of it and I realize
Enough about me, what about you?
What's behind those eyes I see?
What kind of man will you turn out to be?
Are you someone who's trustworthy?
Or will you break every part of me?

Numb
It started rumbling again today.
The rain started, stopped, and then went away.
Sunny days seem endless
Until you get caught in a moment like this.
The cloudy skies still remain...
An unfriendly reminder things wont ever be the same.
No reason to look back.
No reason to say goodbye.
Lies run their courses.
You didn't even have to try.
The storm has ceased, but the clouds remain.
When will this gray diminish?
When will I see the light of day?
The rain started, stopped, and then went away.
Sunny days seem endless
Until you get caught in a moment like this.
The cloudy skies still remain...
An unfriendly reminder things wont ever be the same.
No reason to look back.
No reason to say goodbye.
Lies run their courses.
You didn't even have to try.
The storm has ceased, but the clouds remain.
When will this gray diminish?
When will I see the light of day?

But it's flawed
And so it has begun again
Here I sit, a pen in hand
Trying to scribble a thought or two
The repetition of similar days drag on and through
A mind so restless, but not confused
I know exactly what I want to do
But I'm lazy... And a fool
I miss the opportunity once again
Maybe tomorrow, or the next
I will try to acknowledge you
Please be patient; I know you're kind
It's comforting to know you have nothing to hide...
I wish I could say the same
Embarrassed of my life, full of shame.
But not a single scar of mine would turn you away.
