january.13:

spent 35 minutes on http://www.ffffound.com/ looking for inspiration for problem 1 (positive/negative). found some images that provoked my thought process. all these images were found on the website above.

images led me to 35 minutes of thinking. some questions that i started to form are why is one negative and another positive? who says? why? can these be intermingled?

january 15:

today i spent an hour in everything's a dollar looking for materials/inspiration/concept ideas for my final project for this class... didn't find anything too enlightening. i went here because i thought there would be random materials (for cheap) that i wouldn't normally think about to use. it was a complete bust.

january 16:

spent 30 minutes today looking at craft materials on the internet.

i thought these could be fun to use, possibly. then again, i want to be able to push myself and improve my skill level with drawing materials, so i don't think that i will head this route.

january 17:

today i browsed the internet looking at various artists and materials that they use. i came across fred pass, an artist from the 80s who primarily worked in indian ink and pen. i am very drawn to his work and the style that it is done in. most of is appears to be portraits, but there are some pieces of work outside of that. spent 45 minutes total.

january 18:

spent an hour thinking about positive and negative connotations today. found myself looking at addictions versus being responsible for a long chunk of time. researched addictions. read about the causes of them (loss of control, mostly). also read about responsibility.

january 19:

spent 1 hour today researching addictions and putting together a list of addictions. used the internet to help me formulate a list. i also wanted to know what the top 10 addictions are, and have a list for that as well.

next, i would like to formulate a group of general questions to ask people about their addictions.

january 22:

today i spent 1 hr brainstorming different ideas while driving for problem 1 assignment. still haven't reached a successful resolution for it.

later the same day, spent time talking with a friend about different ideas for my drawing project for problem 1. we talked about it for about 20 minutes.

january 23:

spent an hour sketching out possible conclusions for problem #1 due january 25th. here are some of my favourites. the one is a lady pregnant with a fish and the other is a "congratulations, it's a boy!" fish in a bowl... they humor me.

january 24:

worked on more drawings and ideas for problem 1 for 2.5 hours tonight.
